New Tattoo- Stage 1 and Stage 2 and now Stage 3!
Well- after a lot of internet browsing etc I finaly decided what I wantedt to do with my tattoo.
I have never really been happy with my original and wanted something doing with it.
Now i'm in New Zealand I figured it was the best place to get a good tattoo done and a found the perfect guy.
Had stage 1 done today- yes it is quite big and no it isn't finished.
I'm going to get some tidying up done on the original and blend into it and then some more flowers done on the other side but going down onto my leg instead of up my back.
Will post more photos as i get more work done- will be a few weeks before Stage 2!
UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!
WG has reminded me that I didn't update my blog with the new tattoo work. ( I did on Facebook so a few of you will have already seen it). New photos added- next stage will be to tidy up the old work and then bring it all together- maybe with some more butterflies and little flowers and maybe a bit of greenery.
Stage 3!!
I have had the purple Lotus flower done over my old tattoo (which was pretty poor). We were running low on time so I have anohter sitting in December to finish covering the rest of the old bit with some more tribal work and maybe a few bits of greenery.

As I've stated somewhere on here before, I'm not a great fan of tats, but yours is a bit different from the norm. One reason I'm not keen on them is that, no matter what colours are in them, blue always seems to predominate. Yours looks more like true colour and the design is quite clean and bold. I quite like it, but have to say that you must be a glutton for punishment to have all those needles stuck in you. You must have a very high threshold of pain. Ouch!Posted 19-07-2008 at 04:15 AM by MotherBear

Wow, that's big! Nice though, and I'm glad you found someone who is good and you trust to do it for you - wouldn't have fancied getting something that big wrong
I went into a tattoo shop a few months back and the guy there was fantastic, really instilled confidence and wasn't pushy at all. I'm thinking of designing my own tattoo and he gave me some advice and ideas. I don't want anything anywhere near that big, but I was thinking of something incorporating my kids names (although I have 4 of them, fortunately none of their names are more than 7 letters long, otherwise I'd need arms like Mr Tickle to fit them all on
) and maybe a Maori design that has a particular meaning to it.
I'll post my pics if I ever pluck up the courage to go for it

Beth, I don't think I could stand the tattoo needles on my sides like that - I'd be jumping out of my skin. I'm not sure if I'll get a second tattoo. It took me 15 years to decide on the first one. I wish I'd used my original drawing rather than let the tattoo artist redraw it. I still like it, but it's not quite as I wanted it.Posted 21-07-2008 at 03:16 AM by selchie

The worst part of this one was where it comes round to the side but at my waist- where the tribal bit comes out the top of the bottom flower. No not sure how much of that was to do with the fact I have qute a deep stretch mark (thanks girls) right there.
It has all bruised quite badly now too- espeschially the bottom one.Posted 21-07-2008 at 10:07 AM by ebianca

Cor B, that's impressive! I was planning to have a tat for my 40th, but I couldn't find a design I liked enough to wear forever. I don't think I would suit dragons, skulls or naked ladies and not sure I would trust myself to get the spelling right if I chose one of those trendy arabic/chinese/korean hieroglyphs.Posted 23-07-2008 at 10:33 AM by kokopeli
