No not me- wouldn't even want to dare imagine myself in a Tutu- oh the horror!

We took jessia for her first ballet lesson today. After mentioning it to her about a week ago she hasn't stopped talking about it and today knowing she was having her first lesson this afternoon all we got was 'it must be time to go now'.

Anyway we turned up at the lesson in Whitby and met her friend Niamh outside who leant her a leotard and skirt. The ballet teacher was a little apprehensive to let her join as she isn't quite 5 yet but said she's see how she got on. Think she was worrying about her concentration etc as she hasn't started school but we promptly informed her that she is beyond her years and did actually attend school in the UK before we came here.

Well she got stuck in straight away and was putting in a lot of concentration- the other girls were quite happy to show her what to do and I think she did really well.

The teacher said she can join the class as she seemed to do OK so I have now ordered her an outfit and ballet shoes- hopefully they will be here in time for next weeks lesson!!!!

How vair and utterly vair cool!! Another one on the first rung of the ladder!! The fun starts now. When she's a little bit older get her doing some jazz as well. Jazz is more free than ballet and will allow her to be more expressive with her body. Ballet is ace for discipline, posture and form and will provide her with a strong dance formation but she gotta have some fun as well eh? Ballet when you're little though involves lots of mime so she'll have plenty of fun pretending to be a fairy or a pony or a princess

Awww please post piccies of her in her new gear.

Poppy started ballet in UK when she was about 3 and a half but she kept getting sent to the corner for dancing around on her own and not doing as she was told. She has her own agenda I'm afraid. Lauren, on the other hand, started when she was 3 and was a vair good girl and just excelled. Oh lordy, lordy, where did I go wrong with the last child?? Must be Gary's fault

Thanks Dawn.
Jess is pretty focussed when shes interested in something- Jasmin on the other hand would prob be very much like Poppy and just go round doing her own thing. Might try her with it when shes 3 but for now Jess can teach her stuff.

Will def get some pics when her new gear arrives.

Jenni did ballet when she was about 4-5. She looked so sweet in her tutu - unfortunately she was very tall even then and looked more like an ostrich than a swan . She never continued past age 6 as she just grew and became quite gangly. But she has still remembered what she was taught about deportment and posture. Hope Jess continues and enjoys herself
