Default NZQA PAR Question

Hi everybody!

I'm hoping somebody can relieve us of the great anxiety we've been experiencing since OH applied for a PAR. Here are the relevant facts: OH got a B.Sc. (3 years) and an M.Sc. degree (1 year) in Zoology from a Bangladesh University in the 90's. None of the Bangladesh universities appears in the list of recognized qualifications. In 2004, a PAR got her B.Sc equivalency (level 7).

OH got a Master's degree in Chemical Biology from an accredited US college in 2005 (listed under recognized qualification). But since this was not preceded by a bachelor's degree from a a recognized/listed institution, will she be assessed at B.Sc level 7, or her previous B.Sc assessment, even though not from a listed institution, will get her an M.Sc level 9?

Its been seven days since the PAR application was submitted, and we'll probably hear about the outcome in about two weeks. But some words of advice would be really appreciated in the mean time.

Thanks and Regards,

Taufiq
