We had to submit information to the medical assessor after mentioning a recent not-so-major surgery. The warning lights went off at NZIS, and it took a while before they could tell us precisely what they needed and for us to supply it. What made things problematic was that the surgery was done in Canada, and the MA wouldn't accept a post-surgical evaluation from a local surgeon who didn't have quite the same expertise. Fortunately we made another trip to Canada, and the original surgeon was able to give my OH a clean bill of health.
