I wouldn't bank on it. It doesn't seem to matter to INZ whether you've been married 5 mins. or 40 years, they still need to have evidence that it's 'a stable and genuine relationship'. If your relationship isn't stable after 40 years, what hope is there for you? We all have marriage certificates (in fact I have 2 for the same wedding ), but we still have to go through the rigmarole of proving the relationship.
