Bah! They're just stringing him a line to keep him hanging around. Dangling the carrot, so to speak. Nasty trick to play on someone when there's no money coming into the house. It's right that you've waited long enough. I'm sure Alcatel won't be picking up your bills when your money runs out, so time to move on and show them that Neil means business. If they think he'll hang around for ever, they'll surely let him. They must know what projects they've got coming up unless they're very short-sighted.
I just hope Neil can slot in somewhere quickly. Alcatel may eventually have the job he wants, but a job he wants but can't get is no use when he could get his second best job, which he no doubt can get and without all the messing about and false promises. A bird in the hand...... and all that.
