Hi Caz
We had to have a job offer due to our ages before coming to New Zealand, for the points required

. If you had to ask me personally if this had not been a factor and that I believe in taking risks in life, I would have packed up and looked once we arrived in New Zealand.

You will get to know lots of answers once you arrive and people are so helpful.

Another point to note is e-mails are not answered quickly. We are still having replies from e-mails sent in September 2007. So don’t get to despondent when applying for jobs
As other members have said in the forum the choice of area is what is suitable for your family needs.
We selected Paraparaumu has this offered good schools for our children ages, easy reach for the coast, and great public transport to commute to Wellington, Also added factor an hour away from my sister who lives in Palmerston North, nice enough distance.

I am not disappointed and like Cliff says this area offers so much, whilst not to busy like the city. Saying that there are many areas in New Zealand which are truly great and just waiting for all you wanting to emigrate
