"Got all my paperwork back from Washington today - and a letter that states I am missing my FBI check. Guess what was in the packet - my FBI check, the original form! It says, "The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation is the channeling agency for FBI criminal history record checks submitted by Ohio agencies. This is to verify that the FBI has completed the criminal history record check. Based upon the information furnished by your agency, the FBI has determined that No Record exists in their files for.....[me, identified with Social Security Number]" "Date completed by FBI:March 01,2008". Is there anything wrong with this???"
My husband believes the confusion (due to a nearsighted case officer) stems from your FBI Record being channeled through the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation instead of being sent directly to you from the FBI. He said even though what you sent included the "No Record Exists" from the FBI, the case officer is probably confused because the form you sent in from the Ohio Bureau "looks different" from the FBI Record Check they are used to receiving. Hopefully, you can straighten all of this out with a phone call to Washington on Monday. Best of luck!!
