They sent everything back, including the police check that was sent to them originally with all my paperwork. (And since I am a nurse, if I had any kind of criminal background, well, I likely wouldn't be working as a nurse in this country.) At least everything is stamped with a "received" date of April 21,2008. There was nothing missing with regards to the work permit, but that came back, too. I think they just don't like me. Or maybe someone was having a really bad day and I got the short end of the stick. Who knows? I guess I will, once again, try to see if I can talk to a live person at the Washington branch next week and see what the problem is. (I left a voice mail on Wednesday just wondering where things were, and never got a call back.) I'm a nice person, really, I am! I work in a customer service-type position and I know how to talk to people without being rude or nasty, and I am very patient, so I don't know what I might have done or said to have this happen.

It's so discouraging when you read about other people getting things processed so quickly. And not to mention, my partner and I are missing each other terribly!
