Yes they will get NZ Police Certificate. When we sent in my husband's application they sent us back a letter telling us who his Case Officer was and saying they had applied for a NZ Police Clearance.

Keeweegal... Requiring Police Certificates for the sponsor only came in late last year. Can't remember the exact month. We found out after we had received my hiusband's FBI check back and then we had to turn around and send for a FBI clearance for me

Whole process from beginning to approval and blue stickers in passport...3 months and 9 days.
