I was on my way to my next patient's home, and was stopped at a traffic light that was at the bottom of a hill. I was going to turn left, and I had a green arrow to turn left, traffic coming toward me had a red light. I stepped on the gas, and nothing happened. As I was thinking, "Oh, great, now what?!" a big car came over the hill. Two women were in the car, and I could, in that instant, see they were talking. The driver never even slowed down for the red light! Had I been in the midst of the turn in my little car, I would have been hit broadside and perhaps, killed. After they passed, I turned left - no problem with the car. (Remember, I am in the states, so turning left is turning across in front of traffic.)
That brought back memories of my ex-mother-in-law repeating a story she'd been told by her younger son, just after her husband had passed with a heart attack. John had been driving along approaching a corner when the car suddenly died on him. He couldn't restart it. Suddenly another car came around the corner on the wrong side of the road and had John been able to continue on his way, goodness knows what would have happened. After the errant car had passed him by, he tried to start the car again. It started immediately and he went on his way somewhat shaken up. Afterwards, the cars electrics were checked out and all was in order. They reckon it was his recently deceased father who'd tried to save him. There was something else, too, about her being woken up one night by a strong smell of her husband's pipe tobacco in the room. Then she says she levitated above her bed and felt a tremendous calming influence. I can't quite remember how it all ties in but she said it was her Raymond come back to comfort her and remind her that she hadn't paid the insurance on the car.

I'm currently reading a book by Rosemary Altea who is a healer and medium working from the US although she was originally from the UK. It's not my normal sort of reading but I thought I'd peek in and see what she had to say. She has given healing to some who are dying and, although they still die, I think it means that she gives them peace of mind and prepares them for what's coming. She says she has even been asked to accompany some on their way to the next world, which must be a really neat experience, especially when you get to come back.

What has puzzled me for a long time is, how come, when these mediums see spirits who have passed over and who crowd round so they can pass messages to their loved ones at spiritualist meetings, they are still there in the spirit world? We hear about reincarnation so who chooses who to be reincarnated and who has to stay behind and remain as a spirit? They can't be in both places at the same time. I don't know if I've explained that very well but perhaps you get my meaning. It can't be that you stay in the spirit world for only a certain length of time before being reincarnated because some of the spirits I've heard of appear when they've been dead a very long time, like someone's grandparents or even great grandparents so they can't have been recycled. I'm only half way through the book so maybe the answer will crop up in there yet.
