Medicals - more tests needed
We went to collect our medicals yesterday with the intention of submitting our ITA at NZ House afterwards. Before the medicals I was panicking that my waist would be too big or BMI too high but I was pleased that both these were ok. When we arrived to collect them the doctor went through mine & OH's and we were fine so we both took a sigh of relief. Then we were hit with the bombshell. Our daughter (who prides herself on never having had a day off school or college due to illness) had an area of calcification on her lung. The radiologist had written that this could be due to a previous case of TB. If she had had TB we would have know about it. She had her BCG when she was 13 and she was born and brought up in the UK. She has only ever been abroad once and that was to Spain when she was about 10. The doctor was good and said he knew it wasn't TB but it needs to be confirmed by a specialist. So we are booked in on Saturday for more tests (a cost of about ?260 was mentioned) with the specialist to confirm what we already know. The next thing is to find out what has caused this calcification and what treatment if any. This can be done through our GP, thankfully.
Once the specialist has confirmed it isn't TB then we can get the medicals cleared and submit our ITA.
If it's not one thing, it's another
