Don't sweat the small stuff. Most things happen for a reason, so (and I know this is easy to say), just go with the flow. In the course of a lifetime, is it really worth getting stresses/harrassed/hung up over a few weeks?
If you've got enough points and everything else was in order with your application (i.e. no pork pies or not proven claims), the laws of logic (or whatever they use at NZIS) suggest that you'll get the blue stickers. If you're sold up, packed up and ready to roll, why wait? Ring NZIS and ask them to copy your passports and send the originals back. We did that so we could go on holiday and sent them back for the visas once we'd been approved.
