The best way to find out about particular schools is through personal recommendations. To that end it would be easier if you have a certain area of NZ you are thinking of settling in.
Generally though, you can look up schools on
here . There's also some info on schools
here . You should be able to look up reports on schools on the
Education Review Office site but I don't know how up to date it is and, as such, reliable. Schools have a decile rating with decile 1 having the highest percentage of students from low socio-economic backgrounds and 10 having the lowest.
If you find a few schools that interest you, perhaps you can ask on here if anyone has had experience with them.
