Hey Lou,
nice about the phone interview and all; would just like to say that if at all possible I would come and have a look-see before you cut all ties. ( You may have visited NZ before I came on the forum and if so, forgive me.) We have been here 5 weeks and as Dawn would say, nothing is exactly what you expect so keep an open mind. It is pretty expensive here if you want to do stuff, and in spite of in depth research we were relatively unprepared and feel a bit "cheated" after jumping the immigration hurdles; sure the geography is beautiful in places ( nothing like the Tetons in USA or Gorges de Verdon in France ) but it is not a wonderland and there are certainly hard times ahead for this country in political terms. If you want to realise a dream and be self employed then it would be a shame to get stuck in a rut in comuter belt Hutt land. Incidentally both of us have been given interviews since we arrived and we have both declined the jobs.

NZ needs to be seen with a wide angled view not the tight shots that are presented to us naive dreamers far away; a crate of Tui maketh not the man but destroys the nation!
