Yep, I'm not surprised they've mucked it up either. Very few good books have been turned successfully into film. It's a fine art that vair vair few seem to have the hang of.
In my opinion, books are books and film is film.
Baz Luhrmann did a good job of Romeo and Juliet though IMHO
But Shakespeare wrote scripts not books so I suppose there's a bit of a difference there?
