I was just wondering if any of you who have recently had medicals can tell me what they actually consisted of?
Also what do the kids (aged 13 & 6) have to go through?

The first thing you'll need to do is download and print up sufficient copies of the
medical form! that will tell you about the general outline of the medical. You may need to arrange for your X-Rays first - we had to have ours done the previous week to the medicals, at a different place - but bring them to the medical. They'll be doing a couple of dipstick tests on a urine sample, plus taking blood for five different tests, then a pretty basic medical: height, weight (to calculate your BMI), waist measurement, blood pressure, resting pulse, listening to your chest (heart, breathing), reflexes, reading chart (with glasses if you wear them), then going through your medical history. That's about it as far as I can recall. It didn't take long.
As far as children are concerned, ours are 15 and 18 (just!), so had the full battery of tests. Other wise:
All applicants including children and newborn babies are required to
undergo a medical examination and have a medical certificate submitted
as part of the application process.
- Children under 11 are not required to undergo a chest X-ray.
- Children under 15 are not usually required to undergo the standard
- blood tests.
- Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
- for the medical examination

Has anyone used any of the approved drs local to Yorkshire/ Humberside and if so who would you recommend or suggest we avoid?
Thanks in anticipation!
