I wonder how many Northern Hemisphere immigrants have got caught out by their wonderful new Kiwi home, with the southerly aspect.
You do get used to feeling sorry for the Santa sweating profusively under his bulk-padding and sheepskin lined outfit (when you can find him). Christmas is so much more low-keyed here ... so much better for those who find Christmas a headache, but not much good for those who love the festivities, turkey, decorations and, of course, snow!
