some indication that the rules were changing, but it's good to see it in print on the INZ site.
I don't know if I'm missing something with the visit visa rules as it says we can visit for 6-monthly periods up to a maximum of 18 months over 3 years. Does this mean we can stay for 18 months in one go or go out of NZ after 6 months and come back in on a new 6 month visa? We can go in now for up to 6 months and then go out for 6 months before we're allowed back in for another 6 months. If we did this over 3 years it would still amount to 18 months, so what are we gaining other than saving on air fares? If we can stay for a max of 18 months in one go, that would probably mean having to leave the country again for 18 months before getting back in, which would be an even longer separation for families if that was the case. And they're saying that we have to go through the rigmarole and expense of having health and character checks. It's either very confusing or I'm very thick.
