Hi Kana,

Perhaps you could apply for a work permit for yourself if you can get a suitable job offer. If you can get your own permit, you shouldn't have to prove anything to do with your partner. This way it will give you some time until his divorce comes through and then you can apply for PR under the Partnership Policy.

If you can apply for PR for yourself without having to rely on support from your partner, that's even better, but you would need to have suitable qualifications and work experience to do that.

If you can apply for PR on your own, you could get a Work Permit so that you can stay and work in NZ until your PR comes through. In this way, your partner wouldn't be involved so no need to worry about his divorce etc.
