At the very least, during your one month visit you can get an impression of how desireable you and your skills are to potential employers. If you're "hot", you might decide to go back to sell the house and leap back into NZ life without making sure you have a job. If the job market is iffy, you might make another type of plan. So much will depend on your flexibility.

Karin & I are more cautious than many of the youthful and daring folks on the forum. We figure we'll go over to look for work and make our final decision. If an immediate & desirable job pops up, Karin will stay, and I'll come back to the US to wrap up all our loose ends.
