Default Future Growth Area/Absolute Skills Shortage Points??

My husband and I just submitted our EOI. However, I'm SO CONFUSED. At one point in the application, there were questions asking if his 'skilled employment' were in areas of Future Growth Area/Absolute Skills Shortage. The easy answer is YES, as he is an IT Professional. However, on the application it specifically states the following:

"You need to note that work experience in an identified future growth area only qualifies for bonus points if you are also claiming points for current skilled employment or an offer of skilled employment in an identified future growth area."

Does "current skilled employment" mean skilled employment ANYWHERE? Or only skilled employment in NZ? We did *not* claim points for this, but I'm wondering if I should go back and edit the application, because I think he could get points for it. But I don't want to put in for the points, if he shouldn't. Help!
