She's probably numbed by the shock. The problems start when the numbness wears off.
I dropped huge hints to my mother when I was going to live in Kuwait and when it seemed she was taking it well, I just spoke naturally to her about it. Just 2 weeks before my departure the penny dropped with an almighty clang. She thought I'd meant I was going on holiday, not going to live. That wasn't a great time, but we got over it.
We'll hold our breath once more, Jon, althought there'll be a lot of blue faces by the time the weekend comes around. You've made a start, so that's good.
