Hi Lou, welcome to the forum.

Your degree and your work experience should match up, but if you say yours are related I guess that's OK although I'd be prepared for NZIS to query it as it's not something that may be obvious to the likes of us 'lay people'.

Whether your quals need to be assessed often depends on where it was that you got your degree i.e. whether it's recognised or not so if yours is from a listed uni then you should be OK. However, as Shell says, NZIS will soon tell you if there's any problem and you need to have it assessed. I did find a list of recognised institutes from the NZIS site but, as usual with that site, I can never get back to find things again .
