For non-Brits, in case you've never heard of the expression 'jobsworth' before, I believe it arose from a UK TV programme which had a section dedicated to those endearing types who feel that they can, under no circumstances, bend the rules for anyone as it's more than their
job's worth. Hence, anyone overstepping their duties in this way is referred to as a jobsworth.
