Food on singapore airlines is brilliant, the best I have had on any flight and I have lf flown a lot on a variety of airlines. You are offered two meat/fish choices for each meal. One is British like and one more Singaporean. Beakfast is continental style - bread roll, cheese, jam, yoghurt etc. Snacks are sandwiches apples, peanuts etc. Nothing wierd about the food really. You can choose rice noodles (we did and preferred the singapore style food) for breakfast, but you don't have to. There is also the vegetarian option if you ask in advance, I didn't taste it, but it looked good.
If I remember correctly they also had other snacks for the young children and they gave them stuff to keep them occupied - I think paper pens, puzzle books etc - not sure not having children ourselves.
