As much as I am blushing madly, I also bask in the glow of your praise. Thanks for the help with getting over my modesty.
I have sold one painting (sold before I took a photo) - one of the flower series. If I were more prolific, and put myself out there more, I might get more recognition. And maybe if those flower paintings were 4'x5', rather than 8"x10", they'd get more attention, too. But for now I'm a "hobbyist", and mostly show at the county fair. Humboldt County is actually infested with artists - I believe it currently has the highest percentage of (declared) artists per capita in the US. So although the competition is tough, the inspiration is also plentiful.
Most of my paintings are from photograps, including Artemis' portrait. I have the toughest time getting the cats to sit still for even a photo. But I think Art's pleased with her portrait, and is lording it over Izzie. I'm working on a portrait of a friend's cat, which ought to be done as soon as I have some more time for it.
The Still Life and Blackbird are the only paintings done in person. I've got to do more of both. I spend far too much time noodling with my paintings.
