Must admit I would never myself have chosen a doll if I had the money ... it is just that dolls are what aunts and grandmas mostly gave as Xmas pressies. I was out there too climbing trees, cycling, exploring barns and derelict houses, fishing for tadpoles, building 'dens' and so on. Would come home covered in scratches and bruises. To psycho-analyse myself - I probably wanted to be the son my father wanted at my birth rather than rebelling against any female sexual sterotype. My sister was girly and played with dolls - would never have damaged them though ... that would have meant one hell of a hiding.
Takes all sorts to make a world. ;)
