I think it is a very important point, you can submit your ITA without all your documents if you have had your medicals done, they only last 3 months and you then might have to have them done again. It's a nightmare for anybody. There was just two of us and I couldn't afford another ?400. If there is a family its a lot of money.
So get the ITA in with the medical and if something like consent is missing they will put it in pending. It won't remain there indefinately though. The police certificate has a short lifespan also. if you can see if you can 2 or 3 of the police certificates, reason being you might need police certificate for registration as a professional, say a nurse.
If you have to get certified copies of passports and birth certificates, (they have to be full birth certificates) marriage certificates etc get about 3 copies done . I went to court to get mine done, it was a one off payment of ?8 to get all the copies certified.
