World will be as one - without NZ

Looking to guarantee an island holiday in 250 million years? Don't leave home.
A new geographic forecast predicts the world is set to become a super continent - minus New Zealand.
According to researchers whose work is posted on the New York Times website, the Mediterranean Sea will disappear and Australia will slam into Asia. The Atlantic will close, Antarctica will move northwards. They have named the brave new world Pangea Ultima, super-continent.
Only Aotearoa will remain an island.
Local scientists say the extrapolation is realistic, if current plate tectonic movements continue.
"New Zealand is already out on its own, so that's why it will continue to be out on its own," says Rupert Sutherland, tectonic geologist with GNS Science.
