The further along we get in the process, the more and more family and friends we discover who either have been to NZ or know someone from NZ.

It turns out that my wife's cousin and new wiefe spent a few months on the South Island last year, and she herself had lived in Auckland for a couple of years as a teen. He told her they really loved Christchurch, and now my wife has become smitten with settling there.

I thought we'd end up going to either Wellie or Hamilton, but I figured that since I picked the country, I'd let her pick the city! ;D

Anyway, I'm looking for insight into the city, especially around the issue of suburbs and areas in which to look for a house. The real estate websites are helpful, but don't really provide much more than cost.

Any help would be appreciated!
