Quake rattles lower North Island

An earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale was felt in the Manawatu and Wairarapa regions early this morning, GeoNet Data Centre reported.

The quake, located 20km east of Levin, was at a depth of 40km and struck at 1.13am.
