Default you know you're in new zealand when.....

Hi,

When we were in NZ last year we found everyone to be so nice, we were in Welly wandering round trying to work out where to go next without looking too touristy (well OK we were lost but I think we hid it well!!) and this nice man came up and asked us where were we looking for and pointed us in the right direction.

We found most Kiwis were like that when we were out there.

We also stayed in Kaikoura and got chatting to loads of people in this Pub/Hotel and they were all happy to tell us the best routes, nicest scenery's to look out for on our travels to Frans Josef.

If you were lost in Edinburgh and looked lost I dont know anyone who'd actually stop and help you on your way, we all just walk straight past tourists and almost look on them as a burden.

It's such a different way of life in NZ, everyone's so much more considerate. I must admit after being in NZ it has changed the way I think about tourists and helping people out.
