Default Daylight hours

New Zealand is nearer to the equator than the UK. So during the summer, the days are not as long as in the UK summer, but in the winter the days are not as short.

Of course, it varies slightly from north to south.

There are more hours of sunshine in NZ as, being nearer the equator, rain showers are generally shorter and heavier. Also, large areas of overcast cloud cover seem to be not as common, possibly due to the country's narrow shape but I'm sure there are other factors involved. :icon_neutral:
