Selchie's Art gallery
Gosh, thanks for all the positive feedback. I had my "opening" last night during the local monthly arts night. I even brought some nice snacks. Most people came in, grabbed food and left without even pretending to look at my work. Feh. But there were a few nice people who talked to me about my work - and not all of them were friends! Ah well. We'll see if my show generates any interest in buying my work. It would be nice to recoup a little money for all the work and test prints I made! Gotta make more art, though.
MB, I do recommend looking for a PhotoShop class, or even someone to help introduce you to it. But if you get a free or cheap copy of the program, you might want to grab it and play. There's probably one of those "Idiot's Guide" books on the subject. You seem rather comfortable playing with a computer, so you'd likely be fine. The problem comes when you get hooked, and then need a higher-powered computer to handle the work without crashing (I have a Mac G4), a really nice printer, an 8 Mpx camera or film scanner (or both) and a graphics tablet! If you do get into Photoshop, I could help with any "how do you...?" questions.
