They have to stay in near Hamilton for Taffy's job I believe. Not quite, Stevey. It's more because of young Rachael's schooling. Taffy works from home most of the time.
Look forward to seeing more pics when you're back online MB. Won't be going offline until around 14th Jan. when we are moving, so got a few more days yet
Pulsarblu, the house we've bought is quite old (1960's) but has potential and has been given a good report by the building surveyor. It has 3.5 acres of land and Taffy and Welshgirl will be building their new house on this land (if they're really nice to us and we let them. Oops, that's me . I'll try to put up some pics when we go there next (I did have some lovely pics of the 360 deg. views, but lost them again whilst struggling to sort out my picture files :-[ ).

For anyone else thinking of buying land and splitting it, like we are - it really is not easy to find something suitable at all. Each council has different rules and, if you want a big plot of land (found mainly in rural areas), often it's not possible to split the land. They seem to want only one house per huge section to keep the area looking rural and to protect it from over-development. We went through several potential properties before finding one that we could split, so it's been very frustrating. The process of house buying here seems so simple and quick that I felt it wasn't being done properly but, apparently, this is how it is here.
