Fortunately we have not received the eggs and flour trick. But now we set the Jack-O'Lanterns in the window rather than on the porch. We had two years in a row where a group of teenage drenniks kicked in our pumpkins early in the evening. Other than that, we have had good luck with the kids. We had 55 last night - a record for us. It gets rather discouraging when we only get a couple dozen.

I will have trouble getting used to NZ Halloween at the beginning of summer, though. That's the time for Maypole dances, not spooks and haunts.
