I think you made the right decision - I didn't have the foresight to, am now on a budget and consequently only half my hair now has highlights :icon_sad:

Hairdressers aren't particularly expensive here, but when you're first over (and especially if money will be tight for a while), going to the hairdressers (other than maybe for a quick $20 trim) may be the last thing on your list of priorities!
