Default Crime in NZ
You should try a search of the forums. There is an excellent thread somewhere detailing a lot of the different crimes and areas etc and I seem to remember a link to a government site that had a few reports on various types of crimes..

I think the upshot was Yes, a much safer country than the UK,

The thing is the reporting of crime. In NZ the news programs focus on National Stories whereas here we are bombared with the news from every corner of the globe and the "..and finally" story is now generally the bit that a UK story gets a mention...

like I say though,, there is a great thread somewhere on this site on the subject..
