No points are required for a work permit. As long as your employer will back you up that you're the best person for the job, and you can provide evidence to say you have experience in the job you are taking on, you should be fine.

Once you are working on the work permit, you can claim the points for a job and submit your EOI for residency.

You wont have to go anywhere near the work to residency visa at all.
