At the moment, depending where you are in the country, unleaded petrol (91 octane) will set you back about $1.21 a litre and premium (96 octane) is about $1.28 a litre.

If you have a diesel, it's hovering around $0.89 a litre, but you have the pollution charge to pay on top.
