Sorry not to have replied sooner - not been online for a while. I work in research and subscribe to several related mailing lists. The job was advertised on the list so I applied, I should point out that I have since found out that though the organisation is government funded they operate as a company. I was selected for interview by videoconferencing - and one of the directors flew out to the UK to follow up discussions last week. My partner and I are travelling over to NZ on the 18th of this month to visit some of the offices (on both islands) before we make a final decision.

I cannot give much advice, accept to say that if you are in research it is worth joining any international disussion lists/mailing lists as they are an effective media for employment listings.
