Right then,
I've just spoken to a nice lady at NZ house who has confirmed the following:
* The required IT Skills and levels for the IT specialist roles eg: Dreamweaver, Jave C++ etc are there for a guide only. I think the best thing to do is include absolutely everything you have experience in even if it's quite limited. Also be sure to include any project leader/team manager experience, because they won't class you as 'Senior' unless they can see some managerial experience.
* If your going down the IT route and want to claim bonus points for 'absolute skills shortage' you will need a degree in Computer Science and a min 5 yrs work experince in IT relating to your degree.
* NOTE * the above is only relavent if your are trying to claim points for being on the POL. If you've checked the requirements on the POL and looked at the information above, and realised you can't claim the bonus points, you can still apply under the Skilled Migrent catergory.
Here's some other questions I asked, which people might be interested in:
- She also confirmed that you only have to list immediate family on the EOI form.
- Although they ask for your employers contact details on the EOI, it's unlikely that they will contact them at this stage.
- If you get married half way through the process, this doesn't any significant problems. You just need to let them know and send in your marrige certificate.
Sooooooooo this means we can claim for our bonus points in 'Future Growth Area' and 'Abslute Skills Shortage'. The only slight downer is that I got mixed up with Frodo's work experience. I think it's only 9.5 yrs, which means we'll only be able to claim for 8 yrs. This would give us 115 points, putting us in a good position for the next draw, especially if the pass mark drops again!
Fingers crossed
Now........... where's that EOI form.
