My boyfriend and I are planning on moving to New Zealand (from the UK) in a year or so, initially temporarily but then possibly to apply for residency. It should be no problem for me to get a work permit, as I'm a speech and language therapist and lots of jobs are available (they're always being advertised in the UK job paper). My boyfriend is just finishing a degree in Computing, but all the info I've read on the government website says that he'd need 3 years work experience to get a job under the Occupational Shortages List. The other way is for him to get a job from a company with "approval in principle" - any ideas how we find these jobs? Is there a list of these companies anywhere? I've spent hours looking on the net, but found it very confusing!
