Default Basic Query

Hi,
I assume you are talking about the work permit? This lasts for up to 3 years and entitles you to work in NZ.

There are some conditions in place for gaining one of these permits which, after much searching of the NZIS website, can be found here:

http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...ngCanIStay.htm

You dont need to submit an EOI for this and you dont need points. However, i believe the general rule is you must have an offer of employment on the occupational shortages list, or must be employed on the basis that your employer can prove that no suitable New Zealander is available for that position.

Its a fairly tricky visa to gain as you need to have an offer of employment already in place before it will be granted. If you are between 18 and 30 years old, you could start off with the working holiday visa to enable you to work temporarily whilst looking for a job that meets the NZIS criteria for a proper work permit. If not, you'll either have to be very lucky and get a job offer before you go, or go on a holiday, find work, then apply when in NZ.

I hope you can find some useful info in amongst all that!
