Hi Taffy,

I'm a kiwi and my husband is from Scotland. We live in Auckland.

Read about you in the NZ Herald, and just wanted to wish you luck and hope you can make it to NZ. We feel we need more people like yourself instead of some of the useless people we seem to let in and throw money at!

Is it not possible for you to come on a visitor visa and look for work and then apply for a work permit? That is what my husband did and he's now a resident. That was quite a few years ago though, and I guess things must have changed.

Anyway, good luck to you and your family.
